The Company was formed to acquire, through a merger, capital stock exchange, asset or stock acquisition or other similar business combination, vessels, or one or more operating businesses in the shipping industry.

On March 6, 2007, the Company completed its initial public offering of 18,750,000 units at an offering price of $8.00 per unit.
